In Santa Barbara, at February local artisan’s sale for Valentine’s Day. I brought out my least offensive cards, especially those with hearts and flowers and gratitude in them. It’s not that I don’t like Hallmark Days, another opportunity to send art to people. It’s just that the “art” part has mostly become soppy, by the yard, and often too homogenized. Support local artists and artisans and buy their wares! Support non-local artists and artisans who MAKE THINGS.
